Cyklokapron - Tranexamic Acid 250/500mg

Cyklokapron belongs to a class of anti-fibrinolytics, it contains Tranexamic acid, which prevent and stop prolonged bleeding. This medication is indicated in patients with bleeding disorder (hemophilia) to reduce or prevent hemorrhage. It is also used to control bleeding after surgery or an injury, during heavy nosebleeds, or during menstruation.

Usage.

Cyklokapron injection 100 mg/ml. Cyklokapron 50 mg tablets. NDC 0013-1114-10 10 x 10 ml ampules. Dosage depends on your weight, your medical condition and response to treatment. As usual it takes 2 to 4 times daily by mouth. The best effect is achieved if Cyklokapron used regular. Do not increase your dose; do not change the treatment regimen. Before tooth extraction in patients with hemophilia prescribe 10 mg /kg body mass Cyklokapron intravenously together with replacement therapy. Overdose.

Side effects.

Most people using Cyklokapron do not have serious side effects. But it does not mean that Cyklokapron is safe for your health. Possible side effects: - gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, vomiting, dizziness, diarrhea) - coughing up blood - giddiness - fainting - pain in the arms and legs - confusion and slurred speech - weakness - vision changes - allergic reaction (dermatitis) If you have any of these side effects, especially if they worsen, tell your doctor immediately. Interaction.

Solution of Cyklokapron should not be mixed with blood products and solutions containing penicillin. For intravenous infusion Cyklokapron may be added in most solutions (electrolyte solutions, carbohydrate solutions, amino acid solutions, dextran solutions), heparin also can be added.
